Relay for Roosters
14/02/2010 9:53:00 p.m. by Robert Owen

Roosters Dark Ale fan Peter Bratby and ten other Wellingtonians will team up for the Great Lake Relay in Taupo, calling on Regional Wines and Spirits to “Bring back the Rooster”.

Team spokesman David Young says the idea arose after a trip to their favourite liquor store. After finding that Regionals had taken Roosters Dark Ale off the selection of fill your own beers, Peter decided to start a campaign for the return of Roosters to Regionals. The group will be collecting signatures for a petition during the event.

Regional Wines and Spirits on the Basin Reserve in Wellington has been providing beer lovers with a fantastic range of craft beer on tap for fill your own riggers for many years. Regionals also stock one of the best range of beers available in New Zealand. SOBA members are big fans of Regional Wines and Spirits and encourage the frequent rotation of beers available on tap to give us a chance to taste as many great beers as possible.

I understand Peter and David's love for beer, but waging a campaign for one of New Zealand's best beer stores to keep a single beer on tap is a little misguided. Why not start a campaign to have your favourite beer stocked at the major supermarkets and liquor chains?
